Pembroke to Rosslare Ferry
Irish Ferries run two daily crossings between Pembroke and Rosslare. Journeys take about 3 hours, 45 minutes. PembrokeBased at the former Royal Navy Dockyard, Pembroke Dock, Pembroke Port offers the facility of a major deep water, dry cargo dock. The centrepiece of the town of Pembroke is the wonderful Norman Castle which stands proudly on a rocky ridge that is surrounded by water on three sides. Running the length of the town is the main street, which is a lovely location for a stroll and a browse. It contains some very interesting Georgian and Tudor houses, along with two historic churches and a nice mixture of pubs, cafes, shops and restaurants. The Museum of the Home shouldn't be missed and you can take some gentle walks along the Mill Pond where you can find otters and kingfishers and also go to the remains of Monkton's Benedictine Priory. RosslareRosslare is the original holiday resort in Wexford, Ireland and even today it still contains a uniqueness and quality of it's own. The holiday resort of Rosslare is located 5 miles from the Europort and 10 miles from Wexford. Rosslare is well known amongst fishermen for it's fishing, both on the beaches and angling out at sea. The climate in Rosslare is usually dry, and in the summer months there are hours of sunshine to be enjoyed. Around Rosslare harbour is picturesque countryside containing villages, towns, parks and stunning scenery. Kilmore Quay is a particularly lovely fishing village and you can trace back 9000 years of Irish culture and history at the Irish National Heritage Park which is set over 30 acres of land. |
