Folkestone - Calais Eurotunnel
Since the introduction of the Eurotunnel service in 1994, it has become the market leader in cross channel travel. The Eurotunnel service offers high speed travel between Folkestone and Calais. It's simple drive-on, drive-off trains provide a quick and easy way to travel to the continent. FolkestoneThe Eurotunnel terminal is located at Folkestone in Kent off junction 11A on the M20. It is clearly signposted "Channel Tunnel" along the motorway. You are requested to arrive at Check-In at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Boarding is easy, simply follow instructions from staff, once inside the shuttle you can sit back and relax in your vehicle or get out and stretch your legs. Visual display screens keep your informed about your journey. Calais/CoquellesAfter the 35 minute journey you'll arrive at the Calais terminal. You simply drive off the shuttle, out of the terminal, straight on to the motorway. There is much to see and do in the town of Calais. There's a range of shops which sell a variety of gifts, souvenirs and groceries. Famously, people tend to visit Calais to stock up on beer and wine which can be brought in bulk relatively cheap compared to UK prices. |
