Fishguard to Rosslare Ferry
Stena Line operate the two daily return crossings to Rosslare from Fishguard on the Konigen Beatrix Superferry. Journey takes about 3 and a half hours. The high speed Stena Lynx III also departs on a twice daily trip with a journey duration of around 1 hour 50 minutes. FishguardFishguard is in Pembrokeshire in South Wales. It is easily accessible by the A40 from the M4. The ferry port is a mile north west of the centre of Fishguard. The ferry terminal is operated by the Stena Line, who offer a range of services including a buffet bar which serves snacks and drinks. The town of Fishguard is located on the lofty headland of the Wales coast, overlooking the ferry port nearby. Fishguard was the site of the last invasion of Britain in 1797. It was carried out by a group of French soldiers who confused the local women with military, which motivated them into a cease fire at the Royal Oak Inn in the town centre. Legend has it that Jemima Nicholas - nicknamed the "Welsh Heroine", single-handedly captured 14 French Soldiers. RosslareRosslare is the original holiday resort in Wexford, Ireland and even today it still contains a uniqueness and quality of it's own. The holiday resort of Rosslare is located 5 miles from the Europort and 10 miles from Wexford. Rosslare is well known amongst fishermen for it's fishing, both on the beaches and angling out at sea. The climate in Rosslare is usually dry, and in the summer months there are hours of sunshine to be enjoyed. Around Rosslare harbour is picturesque countryside containing villages, towns, parks and stunning scenery. Kilmore Quay is a particularly lovely fishing village and you can trace back 9000 years of Irish culture and history at the Irish National Heritage Park which is set over 30 acres of land. |
